Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to recover stolen cryptocurrency assets?
Yes. Despite the fact that cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, and it is impossible to make a transaction from an address containing assets without private keys, there are at least three ways to recover them: blocking and seizing assets when accessing the exchange, blocking and reissuing centrally issued tokens (USDT, USDC), de-anonymizing the attacker and their arrest with subsequent seizure of cryptocurrency keys. We have successfully closed cases within which victims received their stolen assets back.
How long does it take to recover the funds?
It depends on each case and its initial data. Usually, it takes around 12-18 months, but this term is approximate.
Are there cases when it is impossible to recover the funds?
Yes, there are. We try to establish such circumstances within the framework of primary analysis and not launch cases that have a negative prospect of recovery. However, situations arise when it is impossible to determine the prospect of recovery without launching a case, or when assets are being withdrawn during the case in a way that does not allow further tracing.
Do you provide any guarantees of successful work?
We guarantee the conduct of quality analysis and the execution of all procedures on our side. We do not guarantee a successful outcome of the case and the recovery of funds. In the world of cryptocurrencies, transactions are always faster than the reaction of law enforcement agencies to their movement, and the entire stolen amount can be dispersed/withdrawn/transferred to different blockchains in a matter of minutes.
Which countries' law enforcement agencies do you cooperate with?
Currently, we are operating in over 10 jurisdictions, where we have conducted or are conducting support for cryptocurrency incident investigations. Depending on the circumstances of each specific case, we select the jurisdiction that is most suitable for its conduct.
How specifically can you help me in the investigation of cryptocurrency incidents, especially if all the arrests are being made by law enforcement agencies?
We have a comprehensive approach to asset recovery and a deep understanding of blockchain platforms and cryptocurrencies. Our specialists conduct analysis of asset movement and establish accounts and individuals involved in the incident. They provide law enforcement agencies with evidence of the need for certain blockages, provide assistance in interaction with exchanges and cryptocurrency platforms. As practice shows, the level of understanding by law enforcement agencies of all these issues is lower than that of specially trained crypto-investigators.
Can we work solely on a success fee basis for the recovery?
No. Legal costs for launching a case usually amount to around $20-50k (lawyer fees, additional data collection, fighting refusals to initiate criminal cases, etc.), which we do not cover from our own funds. The success fee is our main source of income, but the cost of starting a criminal case is covered by the client.
What is the approximate success fee you charge?
It is determined on a case-by-case basis, but it is generally around 20-35% of the amount of recovered assets.
What actions can increase the chances of a successful recovery?
Timely requests for analysis, marking cryptocurrency addresses in analysis systems/exchanges, providing a comprehensive description of the incident.
How does working with you proceed?
Request and transmission of data for analysis > preliminary analysis conducted by us > determination of key directions for work within the case > payment for marking of cryptocurrency addresses > marking of cryptocurrency addresses > payment for start of criminal case > launch of criminal case > seizure of funds on exchanges/through USDT or USDC issuer > acquisition of additional data for analysis > marking and seizure of additionally discovered assets > registration and verification of the victim on platforms where the assets were seized > law enforcement agencies issue a ruling on the transfer/reissue of assets to the victim > issuing of ruling to exchange/token issuer > exchange/token issuer transfers/seizes assets to the victim > payment of success fee > additional analysis and determination of additional data.
What does the blocking of USDT/USDC tokens look like?
https://tronscan.org/#/contract/TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t/code
This is the USDT_TRC20 smart contract, which opens the Contract > Read contract > 13.isBlackListed tab > the malicious address that we have previously blocked (TQsWdx3mdbitvST6UseenucnZ4k3nFRq7S) is entered > the response "true" is received.
In the case of entering any address into this field where USDT has not been blacklisted, the response will be "false".
Blocking a token does not allow any operations to be performed on the total amou.
