Bitget may have suffered a security incident. On September 24, 2026, at 20:17 UTC, Officer’s Notes (@officer_secret) reported on X that assets worth more than $170 million had been withdrawn from hot and cold wallets attributed to the exchange and swapped into ETH.
The author described the activity as an ongoing hack and attached a screenshot of transfers. This is the source’s assessment, not confirmation by Bitget or an independently established finding by Match Systems.
What remains unconfirmed
At the time of preparation, our editorial team had not verified an official confirmation from the exchange. The cause of the transfers, whether they were unauthorized and the extent of any actual losses remain unconfirmed.
The reported $170 million-plus figure should therefore be treated as the author’s preliminary estimate of asset movements, not a confirmed loss. Large transfers alone do not establish that an exchange has been hacked.
