An address associated with the Cysic bridge compromise routed approximately $744,000 in digital assets to Tornado Cash on Friday, following the foundation's offer of a 10% return incentive to the perpetrator.
PeckShield reported that the wallet moved 300 ETH and 30.4 BNB into the mixer after the bounty proposal was made public.
The compromise occurred Saturday when the perpetrator leveraged a bridge weakness to create 10 million CYS tokens on BNB Smart Chain without authorisation. Cysic halted bridge operations and applied a blacklist to the receiving wallet, immobilising roughly 2.8 million of the illicitly generated tokens. The foundation confirmed that its mainnet infrastructure and tokens held in user custody remained secure.
On Thursday, Cysic proposed a 10% reward for the return of 275.872 ETH — valued near $665,000 — representing nine-tenths of the traced Ether proceeds from the incident.
Tornado Cash aggregates inflows from disparate sources, obscuring transaction trails. Arkham data showed the perpetrator's Ethereum wallet at 0x1106De394da07e90b02161465EA0421B74DB4691 retained only $45 in ETH at the time of reporting.
The Cysic Foundation did not respond to requests for information regarding asset-recovery measures before publication.
